7+ years of shooting at Kensington Church has given me a front row seat to some of the most memorable and life changing events of my career. Enjoy this look back…
Had a great time shooting some behind the scenes photos for a Kensington Community Church video shoot with this very talented and funny crew. Its always fun capturing those “in-between takes” moments on set.

A beautiful set of senior portraits with the lovely Kellee. We hit some of the hot spots in Rochester Michigan. It’s always a good time when friends and family can join in the fun and jump in a few photos as well. She even got to get some photos in an amazing sparkly vintage dress that belonged to her grandmother when she was a young lady. I feel privileged that I got to capture these memories for them.
You don’t always have to travel far for a fun photo op.
I once heard someone say that “your backyard is someone else’s dream location”. I couldn’t agree more, and have always been able to find new things to shoot in my backyard. What might seem boring and plain to us is exciting and filled with new possibilities for someone across the world.
Tonight I watched my 3yr old son playing with his bubble blowing toy and noticed that the bubbles piled up on the grass in some very cool patterns. So of course I grabbed the camera and the bubble gun and took advantage of a free 5 min in the backyard during “magic hour” (perfect light for photographers). Shooting with my Nikon D800 and Sigma 50mm f2.8 macro lens here are a few shots I was able to get.
Try it sometime, look at the boring everyday stuff around you and try to see something new and exciting. It doesn’t have to be groundbreaking but you will always learn something new… every time!
Hope you enjoy.

Architecture and People, these are a few of my favorite things. So its always great when the 2 combine on a photoshoot.
This is one of my great clients; John Tagle & Associates Inc. (architecture firm) in Troy, MI. I have been shooting for them the past 2 years and have had the privilege of capturing their amazing designs that have come to life around the Metro Detroit Area. Always a pleasure to work with such great and professional people.
This was from a recent shoot I did for them, to capture the team and the newly designed office space. The new remodel looks great and the team doesn’t look so bad either :)
Enjoy your day and thanks for looking!

Unique Firework photos from Metro Detroit.
Got to play around a bit on 4th of July weekend with some different techniques in firework photography (expanding on last years samples). These are all “in-camera” photos. This look is achieved by using a wide aperture and a longer shutter speed, while the shutter is open you take the lens from out of focus to in focus smoothly and quickly. Fun stuff and a nice change of pace from the typical firework photography (not that there is anything wrong with that).
Play around, Share & Enjoy!
